Classic used bookstore find!

I was meeting my friend for dinner and the aforementioned karaoke, and ended up in the Annex with a half hour or so to kill. I popped into Seeker's, headed over to the "Left Studies" section, and found this:

It's a 1974 book about how any style of music that the author (a batshit insane pastor) doesn't like—from any music written by black people to the Beatles—is a communist plot to destroy the children and possibly turn them all gay. It's apparently a classic text of wingnuttery. I smirked and was about to leave the bookstore when...

Yeah, whatever. Like I wasn't going to buy it.

...I went back. There was a section on Woody Guthrie. The author mentioned Joe Hill. He described the IWW as the forerunner of the Communist Party USA.

For $6, how could I possibly resist?

Lest you doubt the seriousness of this book, Dr. Noebel reminds us:
Never in the history of American music have so few made fools of so many. Never have so many sheep been led into singing the enemies' songs. Never in the history of the world has a nation survived with such mental and spiritual brainwashing. "Such apparently slight causes destroyed Greece and Rome, and will destroy England and America."
Dr. Noebel has also written such gems as "Christian Rock: A Strategem of Mephistopheles" and "The Homosexual Revolution."

I have a couple similar things about Hollywood, and I also got celebrity born-again books: Charles Colson, Susan Atkins (of Manson family), Eldridge Cleaver (Fire and Ice!) and the guitarist for Kansas. Fun!

However I wouldn't be at all surprised if Mr. Seekers Dude believes every word.

Yeah, he's into that whole batshit insane anti-Semitic, lizards from outer space rule the world David Icke nonsense. There was a great picture of him in ARA's On The Prowl newspaper, (#17, summer 2001) hanging outside with other Icke organizers during an Icke talk in Toronto with bugged out wild eyes.

Well aware of this undisputed gem of loony froth-at-the-mouth literature, thanks to my friend Mr. [livejournal.com profile] alfaguru and his Odd Books site. Loads of similar batshit insane reading matter therein; the Nino Volpe one in the top left hand corner will be right up your street!

Well, if Christian Rock isn't the idea of Mephistopheles, I'd like to know who else we should blame it on.

I have that book! A friend gave it to me 2 or 3 Winter Gifts Days ago (back when it was still called "Winter Gifts Day").
