I'm wondering how long it took for him to die. He had people executed in about a thousand different gruesome and brutal ways. He had people blown up, defenestrated, thrown off skyscrapers, hanged, butchered, shot, beheaded, gassed, shot, impaled, castrated, machinegunned, garrotted, etc...

Yes, I stopped on FoxNews late last night, and the anchor was almost complaining that the video of the execution had not yet been released! I know, I know, it's FoxNews---but still, how ghoulish can you get?

Yes, he was a horrific dictator and he killed 10s of thousands, but I am still opposed to the death penalty---even for someone as bad as him. His death proves nothing and will not solve anything.

See, I'm at least deliberately being ghoulish. I figure that if you're going to be tacky enough to execute someone (and nothing is more tacky than capital punishment), you should really go all the way and post the results on the internet. Short of, say, a revolutionary scenario with an impromptu firing squad, there's never actually a need to execute a criminal, and it's never about justice. It's all about the spectacle.

There is this video also, but I dont know how far it goes because I wasn't able to watch it to the end, turns out I am not as de-sensitised as I thought I was.
