I sure would like to be sitting on a patio drinking lattés right about now.
That's exactly where I was, and essentially what I was doing approximately one hour ago... But, I could not get a damn thing done. I can't concentrate when the sun is shining and the birds are singing and the brain damaged guy named Ken is babbling on about how icey his street is...
My maternal grandfather used to do that quite frequently after he retired from the postal service. He never owned a car (being a native Chicagoan, he never saw the need), and didn't like riding in them. He walked everywhere. After he moved to Gary, and lived near the lake, he would walk up and down the beach for miles. One time, he took the Greyhound up to Sault St. Marie, and walked back---keeping to the lake as much as he could, and sleeping on the beach or on park benches. When rangers or cops would roust him, he would show his postal worker's union card, and they would let him go. It took him 5 days, if memory serves correctly, to walk back. He was amazing.
