Of all the shows that I'm addicted to, Torchwood is by far the worst.

This said, they had a blowfish on crack driving a sports car and Spike wanting to shag a poodle. Also hot boys making out with each other for reasons utterly tangential to the plot (it's like they realized that people only watched the last season for the porn value, and they just went with it). And you just don't see that that on TV, usually.

I watched all of the first season, waiting for it to be as good as everyone claimed it was. Didn't happen.

The one episode that I almost liked a lot was the time travel one, where people from the past get stuck in our time...

...up until Owen used the word "fuckbuddy", and that just pulled me right out of the story. Not because I'm offended by the concept or anything like that -- it just seemed completely inappropriate in the context. If you can erase that one or two minutes of the episode, it was pretty damn good.

I hear the guy who wrote Blink might be taking over the reigns on Doctor Who, and maybe Torchwood as well, so that bodes well, at least.

The first season is so terrible. There are maybe one or two episodes that don't utterly suck. But the new episode was really funny. I think they've also realized that everyone hates Owen and if they shoot him every episode, it will be entertaining. And also that people mainly watch it for the boys making out.

Actually, i just saw it, and it should have been awesome, but it jsut failed to be. I think I hate the editing style, the kissing and fighting between Jack and JM should have been filmed in slow motion.

Most of my friends (RL and LJ) are somewhere between "meh" and "OMFGthisisthebestthingEVAR!" over Torchwood. Ianto should have been kicked to the curb after the cyberboobie girlfriend fiasco. And Owen? I'm all for the shooting him every ep. Why anyone would sleep with the little wanker is beyond me. It would be like the Kenny from South Park.

I don't entirely get the fandom love for Ianto. Though he's been consistently awesome this season for some reason. My stance on Owen is that he's a rotten human being but a great character, and a source of much amusement.

See, I prefer to think that the hot boys making out with each other is entirely integral to the plot and the show in general, and they've really only just realised it. Hello, your main character is Captain Jack Harkness! What else would the show be about?

I was rather annoyed that they took the most flagrantly sexual character off New Who and didn't let him get any action in his own show. That was a strange choice. They seem to have corrected that problem now.
