One day, these new terrorism laws will look as ridiculous to sensible people as HUAC. Though I suppose some idiots still justify that, too.

It reminds me of the John Walker Lindh trial, in which the morally superior prosecutors and pundits stated that Lindh "knew exactly what he was doing" when he ran off to Afghanistan to hang out with the Taliban.

It's like, oh, of course, every 20 year old knows exactly what they want and what they're doing in life!

10 years for shoplifting. With these terrorists law we can impose all kinds of wacky sentences!
