It was a slow day on the interwebs, so in lieu of doing something really productive, I took a long walk, did some laundry, and then watched Zizek! It was a terrifically entertaining movie but I still have some questions that will bother me until answered by the internets.

I forgot to do a question about whether The Fountainhead is really one of his top three favourite movies, but I think it's pretty clear he's trolling there.

I forgot to tell you that I had a comic-related dream too.

I was in bed, and a giant cockroach scuttled over me. I got up to kill it, and it was just the cockroach shell—the actual cockroach had escaped and was now larger and furry. I picked it up, and...it was a cat. Yeah, thanks cats, for stomping on my head.

Hmm. I've read more of his articles than books. He's written a lot of books. I recommend Violence, though, because it's short, perverse, and you'll find out where all of the epigraphs for a Certain Story came from. In Defense of Lost Causes is next on my reading list, as it sounds really offensive and I'm curious.

One of my Proffs is a huge Zizek fan and we had a couple of classes on him, one of which consisted of that documentry!

It was so awesome and hilarious and I too really enjoy his writing.

Yo, did you watch Zizek in The Examined Life? Did I not post about this? Anyway, if you go to the TVO site, they've posted the entire movie online. It's made by the same woman who made Zizek!, and on top of our favourite ubermensch, it also features Cornell West, Judith Butler, Peter Singer, Kwame Appiah and some other more or less known academic luminaries. Zizek's bit is about the environment, and he is going fabulously against the grain.

No problem! It's very well worth seeing. I've seen it at the Royal and right when I saw that TVO had funded it I knew that I had just wasted 10 bucks and that it would get broadcast sooner than later (we saw it again 2 weeks ago when TVO showed it). Just like how The Corporation was shown like within a month of being projected at the Bloor. (That time though is when the Bloor's ceiling came down, so I got a free-movie ticket out of it!)

Cornell West really rocks in there, moreso than Zizek.
