what i'm really wondering though is how I never got into Death In June. fan-freakin-tastic. i must download more stuff. recommendations?

Sins of Thy Beloved make me laugh. Yet I love them. As long as I don't read the lyrics (mockity-mock-mock) I really get into their music.

I'm surprised more goths and ex-goths I know haven't heard of or do not like Death in June. I mean, technically, they're neo-folk, not goth, but that's the sort of subtle subgenre distinction most people don't really care about. (I mean, Joy Division aren't goth either, but try finding a goth under the age of 25 who doesn't listen to them.) Also their politics are, shall we say, problematic.

Anyway, I put all of the stuff I have together and I'm trying to upload it to sendspace for you, but my internet connection is being stupid today so it might take awhile.

And you should check out Current 93 and Sol Invictus if you haven't already. Same genre, less creeping fascism. :)

aww yr the best... i shall have to hunt down some Current 93 and Sol Invictus i guess too... funny thing about D.I.J and C93 ... i knew quite a few people who were right into those bands back in the 90's just never really bothered giving them a listen myself... no matter one only has enough time for so many bands i guess it's not like i was stingy with the amount of time and attention i gave to being a total bandwhore back then.
i wouldn't worry about the creeping fascism of DIJ i rarely pay attention to lyrics unless it's slayer or something equally satanic cos singing the praises of the great horned lord is totally boss.
