Show us your tits, writ large.

Memo to all concerned: My boobs do not cause earthquakes. Nor are they for your viewing pleasure. They are just boobs. Rather nice ones, but none of anyone's fucking business.

I was about to say: "Where is Twisty Faster when you need her?" But fortunately she's right here, because this whole thing is making me itchy in my second-wave feminist place.

Yeah but doesn't that final, gratuitous dig at the woman's grammar just poison the whole rhetoric? Pinky out for the teacup!!

To be honest, the fact is...

It's Sym's Manboobs that ACTUALLY cause earthquakes. It is the greatest of my powers.

Didn't you know that it is feminist to flash your boobs? It's because you're sexually liberating yourself! You know, that kind of pop feminism where people claim Madonna and Lady Gaga are really feminists when they jump around in tight and revealing clothing. :/

I was wondering if the clerics said anything about promiscuous man exposing their boobs? If I may be so immodest, I have a pretty nice rack myself! Should I cover up?

Maybe we cause a different kind of natural disaster? Like bad sitcoms maybe?

Give me a theoretically sound feminist in hijab over these sorts of poorly thought out shenanigans any day.

OMG. I can only just imagine what having a value neutral body would be like. O brave new world, that has such people in it.

Good Lord. I never get catcalled or whatever, but then I have never worn short skirts because my legs are short and dumpy and hairy! But lovely though you undoubtedly are, it sounds like excessive harrassment to me. What really fucked me off when I was younger (twenty ish) was that my female friends thought it was fun when that happened to them and insisted that it was because men's genes made them do it. And that men needed pornography to stem the overflow of their way way higher sex drives because otherwise they would be forced to turn to rape and pillage. AAAARRRGH! Stupidity of people. These were all females graduating from top universities, by the way. Aaaaarrrrgh! I rant forever.

I'm a big fan of IBtheP, but when I read, "We've all said stupid things on the internet. But..." I just think "I had had it up to here with that relentless, sanctimonious, supercilious Metrical Formula of Internet Feminist Conformity and Propriety".

Fun feminism always reminds me of this Onion article: Women now empowered by everything a woman does.

Oh God. That is simply brilliant. I love the Onion so much I want to print it off, stuff it in a duvet and just HUG it to death.

I almost forgot:

Slut-shamer!

(I've been hearing that one a lot lately. Apparently having reservations about calling any commodification of a woman's body "feminist empowerment" equals slut-shaming.)

I think she meant well, in the spirit of, hey, breasts are just breasts so what's the big deal, but of course shitty pooheads got all excited over the thought of breasts and ruined it.
I'm looking forward to breastfeeding in public (if I have a baby (obviously)) and telling people to fuck the fuckety fuck off if they object. I like telling people where to go.

Also I'm fucked off because the Cambridge University Union now runs pole dancing classes for women to help them feel empowered. AAAARRRGH! It was bad enough when I was there, with women students baring their breasts for the Daily Mail to show they were as "fun" and "up for it" as Oxford students (who had bared their breasts for another tabloid the week before)!

Yeah, that's pretty much my take on it too. When I first read about the idea, I thought it was pretty amusing and was considering participating, but then reading a zillion comments on it all over the place from horny guys who missed the entire point because they were too busy thinking "OMG BOOBS!11!" kind of leached all the fun right out of it for me.

Though come to think of it, I think I ended up wearing something a bit cleavagey on Monday anyway, but that was more just because I felt like it. I'd pretty much forgotten what day the whole Boobquake thing was supposed to be happening by then.

Wow. One guy on my facebook friend's page linked to that. I just figured it was one of those kinda dumb ironic things (Iran is oppressive because women cover up because men want them to, while we are enlightened because women uncover because men want them to). And possibly, but probably not a viral effort by arms manufacturers to associate cleavage-induced erections with the thought of invading Iran. But I didn't realize it was a big thing, or that anyone other than men were involved.
