sabotabbyI just picked up a ticket to see Not In My Name, playing this Friday at the Toronto Jewish Film Festival. Now, I'm hardly one to prejudge a movie before I see it, but I actually know it's going to be a load of bollocks, having been present during part of the filming. (If you define "filming" as having a camera shoved in one's face while some wingnut demands to know how one feels about being a traitor to the State of Israel, etc.)
One of the directors was on CBC this morning, babbling incoherently about how we're "worse than the Palestinians" and calling poor Avi a far-left extremist. (D., I hope you're reading this. Our boy, an extremist! I'm so proud.)
Now, while I asked them to not film me or use any footage that I'm in during the film, I somehow doubt that they complied with this request, because here are my feet on their website. And they've got footage from the weekly vigils, so I kind of hope they kept the shots of all of us flipping them the bird and telling them to stop filming us. For some reason, they've also got Moose splashed all over the site. I guess he's the new poster boy for self-hating Jews or something. Someone should tell him he's Jewish because I don't think he knows about that.
The stupidity. It burns. I can't wait to see this, though. I haven't been so excited since the time I got a cameo in that Nazi movie.
