You shouldn't have to wait until 2031 to have unhealthy amounts of pie. May Day can be celebrated with pie. Liberation of the working class pie!
Actually, fuck it, there is still pie in my fridge. I can eat it right now while listening to Night Vale and weeping because my washing machine is fucked.
Pi is an infinite, non-repeating decimal in which (if I am not mistaken) every sequence of digits of any given finite length at some point occurs, including every possible date/time combination. Therefore IT IS NEVER THE WRONG TIME FOR PIE!!!
Oh! I got it when I first moved into my own place, which was over 15 years ago.
It's a Morphy Richards toaster. Doesn't look like they make it anymore, but if you Google "morphy richards retro toaster" you can find them on eBay and stuff.
In terms of quality, I have had it for over 15 years and so it has made a lot of toast. It has never fucked up the toast. So I think it's probably the best kitchen appliance I own in terms of longevity and not exploding. A++ would recommend.
Nobody asked you what kind you made? I want to know!
I made two: rhubarb and canned blueberry filling (yecch, but it was requested). I wanted to make something weird, but just getting those two done was stressful.
I made pecan maple. In front of that is D's apple pie. The two little ones to the right are misslynx's white chocolate pies. Beside that is L's samosa pie (our sole savoury pie, unless you count the pizza). The last one is culpster's dead guy pumpkin pie with maple bourbon whipped cream, so named because most of the ingredients came from the kitchens of two recently deceased gentlemen.
Srsly, next year celebrate by finding a proof of the Pythagorean theorem or something. Also, I hope you have a man in your life who will be eating all that.

(It saddens me that there is no 31st April so we cannot have a European Pi day.)

Date: 2015-03-16 12:39 am (UTC)Though making it 31 April instead of 1 May just for this year could work.
What do we want? Pie!
When do we want it? At precisely 9:26 and 53 seconds!
Actually, as the Swedish date notation is year-month-day, we only need to wait till the 15th April 2031. That's not too bad.

Date: 2015-03-16 02:15 am (UTC)As did the pie. There was a lot of people to eat the pie, but still more pie than could be eaten by the people.

So don't try this with your toaster…
