Yikes what did LJ do? They changed it now it sucks.

Anyway, I had a few more adventures and took pictures with my decent camera instead of just my iPhone.

We have been wandering around Stockholm. Today we took the train to Gävle, known to normal people as "the place where they burn the Yule goat every year" and to Wobblies as "the place Joe Hill was born."



On a scale of one to hugely alcoholic, how bad is it that the first museum we hit was the Spritmuseum, which is half-Absolut Vodka ad, half tongue-in-cheek celebration of Sweden's drinking problem?


They have a bottle of "The End of History," which is a beer with 55% alcohol content packaged in taxidermied animals. For reasons.


Walking down Götgatan, towards what I'm assured is not a nuclear power station even though it looks like one.


Stockholm, as smhwpf puts it, is a total camwhore.

And then at the end of the street, red and black flags denoting Joe Hillgarden.


Given that Joe Hill's family burned his stuff for shame because he was executed as a murderer, this is probably not his violin and hat. Probably. But let's all pretend that it is.

Also! We went to see Jimmy's Hall, the new Ken Loach film. Highly recommended. It's basically like Footloose but with Irish communists instead of Kevin Bacon.

Told you, not to try drinking with Swedes unless you wanna die (but then you must take the boat to Finland, even àland will sometimes do, also nice going through the archipelagoes)! The Globe is just one more thing that went wrong after I left. *sigh* Now I feel like going back to take a look at town...

We are planning to go to the archipelago, but I think Finland will have to be another time. I'm only here for a few more days, and there's so much to see!
