Enjoyed the hell out of the books, watched maybe four episodes before it seemed too violent for fragile me, do not have answer.

Oh yeah that's where I check out for sure. I realized at some point I was rolling my eyes at friends who are parents saying "I can't watch [thing where a child is in any danger whatsoever]" but I have probably ruled out movies after looking at doesthedogdie.com

I struggle to think of a recent show or movie where I felt the animal death was narratively warranted. I'm not much for child death either.

I mean it's not a selling point for me or anything, child death, but I'd just accept it as part of an unpleasant story. Cat death would mess up my day. This is a way in which I am not right in the head that I am pretty much fine with.
