I don't even know what to say. I was an Art Kid in the 90s; his influence on who I am and how I think cannot be overstated.

I hear that the wildfires may have played a role in his death and I am even more livid.

I wasn't a fan. Many of my friends do take some joy/comfort/whatever else from his works, so I respect that.

Between the wildfires, his emphysema situation and the relaxed attitudes of too many others towards COVID and other airborne diseases...yeah, that's my understanding of his situation.

Dammit.

i read somewhere that long covid played a significant role in exacerbating his other health issues. which is definitely a thing it does, as i know to my sorrow.

He wrote very eloquently about the way that other people failing to take covid seriously restricted his own existence in the world. I already had a ton of respect for him but it somehow got higher after reading that.

o i would like to read that. i share at least some of that experience of isolation & restriction because others fail to treat covid with the seriousness it demands.
