You know what else I don't get? One of the lifeguards at the JCC had her hair dyed bright indigo. It looked fabulous, and I told her as much. But you'd think she must do a lot of swimming, and every time I dye my hair, the chlorine in the pool bleaches it to something ugly. So I wonder if she possibly dyed it today and just hasn't been swimming yet, or whether there is some secret way to not end up with shitty hair after swimming. Does anyone know?

On a more serious note, a 19-year-old Texan was sentenced to 40 years in prison for helping his 16-year-old girlfriend have an abortion. Did everyone else hear about this and just not say anything? WTF?

I thought Morgentaler closed his clinic in Halifax because abortion was very available from the public healthcare system?

yeah, you're right: through the hospital in halifax. i believe they agreed to increase the amount of patients that they'd see.
