Who knew?

Anyway, new Gaybortion!: Tourists. (A result of hanging out with [livejournal.com profile] nom_de_grr, [livejournal.com profile] king_felix, [livejournal.com profile] mercenarytoast, and [livejournal.com profile] cerulean_knight.) It won't be nearly as funny if you're not them.

Look what I got!

I <3 Craigslist. I spent some of this afternoon (well, after [livejournal.com profile] human_loser helped me haul this baby and its peripherals across town) trying to remember how to play. I can still do "Martha" by Tom Waits, and I got partway through the IWW Little Red Songbook. Anyone know good places to get sheet music for songs that don't suck?

I also finally managed to snap a picture of Jake, the cat who lives downstairs. Look how little his head is!

This is the only picture that came out from the RSS 06/06/06 event the other night. From the left: Brian Keene, a guy from Rue Morgue, Nalo Hopkinson, and John, who's a magician or something.

One more thing: I saw X-Men III last night, which was lots of fun. But I had to pee so I dashed out before the credits were done. I know there's a scene after the credits, because people keep harping on about it...so what did I miss? (EDIT: Never mind, [livejournal.com profile] nihilistic_kid told me. So SPOILERS IN COMMENTS MMMKAY?)

The post-credit scene...

was foreshadowed early on. Remember the seeming non-sequitur in the class when Xavier talks about the ethics of installing a new consciousness into a comatose body in the care of Moira McTaggart? Well, the last scene involves that fellow waking up and saying, in Xavier's voice, "Moira..."

i missed that! that's what happens when you go opening day! you miss hearing about all that stuff.

but i figured there would be a sequel when the last scene before the credits pictured when magneto moves the metal chess piece ever so slightly.

cool! rasmus will be pleased to know that. and so will i. although he's probably already discussed the possibility of a sequel because he's ever so slightly more fanatic about it than i am.

and the keyboard is awesome!

The scene implies that the last thing Xavier did before dying was telepathically transporting his vocal cords into the body of a man with no conscious.

I actaully saw the movie twice- my friends dragged me along the second time and they told me about the all important last scene after the credits so of course I had to go. I actually enjoyed the movie more the second time for some reason.
I'm glad there will be more movies to come. I enjoy the series.

PS. <3 PKD.

Also, there's supposed to be a second trilogy, and many characters will be getting individual treatment. See Magneto, Wolverine, etc.

OMG KEYBOARD!

SQUEE!

Ummm....define "doesn't suck," with respect to music. I have lots of tunes and chords on the shelves and in the library, but for non-Celtic stuff, you might want to try the downstairs at Remyni (mostly Classical, though). Maybe Long&McQuade?

OK...well, there's lots of tune + chord stuff on the shelves in the living room.

If you look in the blue spiral-bound book of English Country Dance tunes by Peter Barnes and in the black spiral-bound book "A Little Couple DanceMusick," also by Peter Barnes, there are some good essays in the back about what you can do with the chords, should you feel so inclined. So you might look at those.

It's more fun to talk about football than the news. Which, by the way, what's up with people making a big deal about the ladies' lingerie found at al-zarqawi's cubbyhole? Is he supposed to be some big homosexual or something? Or is it implied that muslims don't have sex? How come we have so many damn muslim babies in this world, then?

My stepdad uses AOL (vomit), and it's been in the AOL headlines, along with the cat-who-chased-a-bear story.

These idiots obviously have never been to an Arab women's wedding party, where the guests all wear backless dresses, and the ones who don't (thinking they have to dress modestly, etc) stick out like sore thumbs. Sigh gay islamofascists.
