Wolf Parade were awesome.

How awesome?

They made a Toronto crowd dance.

This is especially an impressive feat as the ironic mustache and trucker hat quotient in the crowd was quite high, mitigated somewhat by the chick who showed up in a fursuit. I don't know if it was an ironic fursuit, but it was pretty great. I think she was supposed to be a bear. Anyway, getting there was an adventure, as I had no idea where Sound Academy was so I just got on a bus and followed the hipsters. I got there eventually.

The venue sucks for sound. It's very loud. I was warned, but still not prepared for how loud it was. I mean, Wolf Parade and the adorable J-Rock band that opened for them are loud bands, but even so, it was ear-ringingly loud. Earplugs next time.

Brilliant! I have yet to attend a gig at the Sound Academy, but I had heard that about the sound before. Meh.

I curse myself every time I forget my earplugs when attending a concert now, no matter where or how loud. Of course, I forget my earplugs most of the time.
