Cat went to the vet's today.

Cat had three veterinary technicians, plus the vet (who looks young enough to be one of my students) cooing over him, telling him he was the sweetest boy, picking him up and cuddling him, and generally freaking out about how great he is.

Cat had to be bodily hauled away from two small children on the sidewalk who also seemed to want to pick him up and play with him.

Cat then attempted to drive my mother's car home.

Cat is fine, by the way. He got some antibiotics for his goopy eye. His massively swollen ego, I am afraid, is a chronic condition.

I am, alas, no better

This is because EVERY BRAINCELL HE LACKS WAS TRANSFORMED INTO PURE UNADULTERATED WOODGINIUM WHILE HE WAS STILL IN UTERO.

I just spent $650+ on cat. I assume Canada has socialized cat medicine since it has everything else.

Sounds familiar.

Glad to hear he's okay.

It doesn't here. 5 days in hospital costs me nothing. Average visit to the vet costs at least $50, with up to $150 for medicine, and more if they ever need to do tests or surgery.

The RSPCA does offer vet insurance, but I haven't got around to it yet.

Poor kitty. He must hate such trials and torments. *eyeroll*

Now I want a cat as a chauffeur. Maybe Jaz can get a license so I don't have to.

Now I'm thinking of that cat driver in Gridlocked in Doctor Who.
