I think she is finally done. I left her a little rough around the edges, but I dunno, kind of works? If it were Photoshop I'd slap a texture on there.

try the photoshop texture and see if you like it better? you can then use a projector to pain the texture back onto the canvas :)

Another Sabofacet!

I like this quite a lot — is there a larger image online somewhere? The woman's expression & body language all seem very real.

(Also, I like that the easel legs look almost like they are the woman's legs coming out of the canvas.)

I was just thinking that about her legs, too "kind of skinny".

Clearly, we under-estimated Our Sabs' inclusivity. The woman is disabled and those are her prosthetic (peg) legs, matching the late 19th/early 20th technology and fashions. Presumably, she was a pirate before the injuries.

...not only is she disabled with wooden legs, she is also, to my unstoppable satisfaction; left-handed at it. Serial carpenters often are because why be anyone's wife when she can obviously get along killing just fine on her own?

She is great, ready to stab some idiot! You're a great artist.

I thought she was just kind of grumpy after a long day, personally. Definitely no reason to change it! Quite the opposite, in fact: She's got the kind of expression that just begs each viewer to make up a different story about. (Returning, I realize that I really like this painting.)

Nice! I like her expression actually. She's got something to say. I also really like the detail and light on the apron. Where does the image come from? Do you work from models or found images or just from your head?

Awesome. Agree about the expression thing, so many different things one could read into that. Ready to snap? Depressed? Just a bit grumpy or sad? Or maybe just pensive and a bit sardonic. Very powerful expression, staring out at you.

That's a beautiful picture!

Make it into a book cover illustration

And also, put it on display somewhere; I'd really like to see it in person (and I very seldom say that about paintings).
