Oh no. That's the first I'd heard of it, as I avoid all news.
I haven't read any of her work since I was a child, but she was a major part of my childhood/reading/thought/ethical development.

Her adult work is even better, and well worth a read.

Oh I think it was - I read The Dispossessed and loved it when I was 12 and lots of short stories, too.

Have only read Left Hand of Darkness, but suspect I shall have to add her entire back catalogue to my reading plan.
