I'm a geologist, and I've had to explain to people a few times why the fact that evolution is real doesn't mean they have to give up their faith. Which is a weird position for an atheist to be in. I blame their pastors. Believing is great, if it inspires you to live well, and I'd never want to take that away from anyone.
