Inktober Week 3 + life drawing

Suffice it to say that this was a hell week, as all weeks are likely to be for the foreseeable future, so it is a testament to my dogged determination to follow through with even the most trivial of commitments that I got this done. I don't love these as much, but I think the life drawing session makes up for the haphazardness of my Inktober drawings.
"Hyper LARGE":

For "BUG IN HUMAN SHAPE" I thought of a reverse Gregor Samsa and how it would suck because now the bug would need to go to work and pay rent. Which, I guess, is also regular Gregor Samsa. Anyway she's a centipede because my friend sjb likes centipedes:

"Scarfed mystery." The real mystery is how Four got a brooch belonging to one of his future incarnations:

"Ornery beach sheep" is fairly self-explanatory. Let's all be honest about how much everyone doing AInktober was looking forward to that one. I hope I did her justice:

"Baby dinosaur gasp" is consistent with my solemn vow to draw dinosaurs with feathers because it's 2019 and I'm not a coward:

And then here's where things got fucked up. Because if my life was not already full of awfulness, a thing that people often do to cheer me (or other sad folks) up is...well. Send me adorable cat pictures. And it's become a bit of a trigger. Like I just see a happy, playful cat and not that Cocoa was ever playful but I just want her to be happy and healthy and would do anything for her and then I get really upset.
So my original thought when I decided to do this had to do with a pregnant cat popping out ridiculous numbers of kittens and it was going to be funny, but funny cat stuff is just not where I'm at right now. And then I decided with everything else going on in my life, I should give up on doing Inktober. And then I thought I was a failure. And then I got very weird and superstitious about it and started ruminating on various meanings of abundance.
And then a very basic, ancient form of sympathetic magic occurred to me, so I drew a picture of Cocoa eating to become round and abundant again. I drew this partially with her on the couch and then she wanted to hang out at my desk and help so anyway, that's why it's not very good, but maybe it worked because she helped with it and then she ate.

Now that I've made everyone sad, here is today's, "three courageous frog," which is back to hopefully being funny. I had multiple ideas for this but I went with three antifa frogs who are off to fight Pepe for the honour of amphibians everywhere, because frogs are fucking great and the fash shouldn't get to have them as their symbol:

I also did a life drawing session on Wednesday. I really liked the model and also I bought better pencils (and a unicorn pencil case, because I was sick of carrying around all my supplies in a heavy wooden cigar box that I've had since high school when my spine wasn't held together by cobwebs and duct tape.
I hardly ever show people my gesture drawings but I did a few that I didn't hate! So you get to see them:

And some longer poses:

Date: 2019-10-20 06:28 pm (UTC)I love the dino and frogs. :) And the umbrellas on the beach for some reason, maybe it's the hexagon lover in me(I know it's a heptagon, but close enough LOL).

Date: 2019-10-20 06:55 pm (UTC)For some reason I'm also really happy with how the umbrellas came out.
I hate to be That Art Teacher but it's all about practice. When I'm out of practice, my drawings suck. The more I draw, the more they cease to suck.
