Mountains! And magick

We met up with sara and headed up to the mountains. I have this thing with mountains (and palm trees, but that’s not relevant here) where they’re so removed from my daily experience that I’m unconvinced that they’re real. Ditto eagles and herons, both of which we encountered, but which are too large to be real birds. Behold the pretty pictures I took and decide for yourself if they exist.















Then we met up with apperception and had dinner and then went to the OTO lodge. I didn’t take pictures of it because that would feel disrespectful to someone’s religion, but it is very cool and looks like it’s out of Twin Peaks. So just visualize that, except in a strip mall.

Oh man I can never explain how I feel about mountains to people! Kinda like Cecil feels, I think. I describe seeing mountains as being one of Dr Who's companions and something is Terribly Weird on the planet and you're running around screaming about it and no one else seems to even notice.

I don't even feel like we got to the really best parts of the mountains but I hope people had a good time. Also you cannot see from the photos that, like, the snowy fir trees were next to the parking lot with the totally unsatisfactory pit toilet. I was embarrassed on behalf of the American people by the substandardness of our pit toilets, usually they are better than that.

Also Sabs didn't get axe murdered by me OR the Satanists so I think that's a win.
