Drug Fraud and his regime made a calculated political decision to deny essential workers paid sick days to infect as many precarious workers as possible. They made a calculated political decision to open up schools in the middle of a pandemic, in order to infect as many students and education workers as possible. The result is that it now looks like we're going to hit 18,000 cases a day here, in a time where vaccines are available (they also made a calculated political decision to keep 1.5 million of those vaccines in freezers, and to designate Tory ridings as "hot-zones" over areas with higher infection rates to ensure that their voters were kept safe).

These people should be in prison.

The entire world should look to Ontario and witness the consequences of electing Tories and never do so, ever again.

ETA: Instead of using the 1.5 million vaccines he has locked in a freezer and giving paid sick days to the essential workers who are dropping like flies or taking up the Red Cross' offer of help, Ford made a deliberate political decision to give the cops sweeping powers to harass, abuse, and murder those same essential workers, who are largely poor and racialized people. He is betting that everyone in Ontario will forget how badly he bungled this and given how deeply braindead the majority of voters in this province are, he's probably right.

We have one NDP government during a recession, and Ontario lives is constant terror of another NDP disaster. The Tories keep coming in and causing mass death, and everyone shrugs like that's normal and just the cost of being Open For Business.

I want to see Rachel Notley beat Jason Kenney's ass clean this time (meaning, no three-way split) and then get re-elected, she's got a good chance to do it. Also I think the BC Greens could replace the BC NDP if they're clever (that's a big IF, obviously, but the BC Greens are more together than most), though that election is 4 years away now. So bad that the red/greens bombed so spectacularly at the beginning...

I don't hold high hopes for Horvath here, she's finally competent but is lacking that extra oomph to carry people on a wave... While Ford's ratings are finally dropping, the fact that he's still electable at this point means we're fucked. Good thing he wasn't able to call an election in the fall like BC did.

They really, really should. I fear they probably won't. Johnson is very popular at the moment, though at least that's largely because things do finally seem to have turned around here. But the monumental fuck-ups throughout 2020 seem to be all forgotten, and the rampant corruption in the news right now met with a shrug.
