For those of you who haven't seen it, there's a new Gaybortion!: Robots!

For those of you who still want more giggles, read [livejournal.com profile] anarchists.

Also, I took more pictures of the neighbourhood cats but I'm not posting them yet. And I spilled coffee all over myself. That's it for news.
EDIT: Okay, onto the serious stuff. I've seen some good posts about HR 4437 and the protests in LA lately. [livejournal.com profile] dobrovolets has a fantastic post here. Go read it, please.

I should add that, while the ruling class tends to create all sorts of useless and stupid laws, the most reprehensible of these have to do with borders and immigration. Drawing an imaginary line across some land that you've claimed as your own and then dictating that certain people don't have the right to cross it? It's simply anti-human.

I had a dream last night that I came to visit you and Marinetti! In the dream, Marinetti had an ever so cute habit of oozing on his stomach across the carpet without using his legs at all. Now I come to recount this, it doesn't sound cute so much as vaguely disturbing, but in the dream it was the cutest thing EVAH.

I agree that the laws are anti-human. The immigration should be based on an open and rational system. Current system is not working because it's not rational or well-reasoned. It's created to intimidate the aspiring immigrants by ill-treating those who are already here.

What difference does it make if they don't give me my liberties? I won't give up asking for them but I'll get used to living on less than citizens of this country who have the same education as me. Fear won't persuade me to go back to Turkey (it hasn't yet.) And they won't change anyone else's mind from seeking opportunities in this country either.

I'm more in despair about the immigration laws in Australia and Europe. Womera is a bleeding wound on world's conscience. An the chunnel is a grinder of human straw.

I'm much more

*minus the last line. How did that get there?

True. There is a bias in media coverage which is a reflection of the bias ingrained in the legal system. No one reads about the Haitians, who get deported even after living here for years, while the Cubans earn the right of asylum if they take so much as one step on the American soil. The media praises Cuban boats for their ingenuity, and the capsized Haitian boats are shown with a kind of subdued hysteria.

The comic in anarchists? If you're referring to a specific post, tell us which one.

I never thought much about the drawing a line and saying certain people can't cross it. But while I'm not in favor of getting rid of government completely, my ideas of what it should be are infinitely different than what they are now.

It's pretty rare that I catch the drama while it's still happening I guess. I noticed someone with diarhea of the keyboard who obviously didn't have a clue about anarchist concepts but apparently he thought he did.

I was talking about my ideal vision of our society recently with [livejournal.com profile] jaymoh. I'd like to replace most of government and corporate functions with 'collective' or 'cooperative' organizations. But when I think about it certain aspects of my ideas are always going to be essentially a government, even if only covering at most the geographic area of a city.
