The federal government won't be making any announcements on the future of Vancouver's safe-injection site or AIDS funding this week because the issue is "too politicized."

Oh, I'm sorry. The fact that AIDS is decimating an entire fucking continent is too political for Harper. KS lesions and pneumonia are too political. That Canada reneged on its promise to send generic drugs to the Third World is too political. 40.3 million people worldwide are living with AIDS but let's not do anything about that because it's too political.

My suggestion is that we make it a bit more political by turfing this douchebag of a chimprime minister from office. He deserves worse, but I wouldn't wish AIDS on anyone.

I hope there's action. Oh, to make things better, they decided to use surveillance cameras to spy on an AIDS vigil the other day. Because you never know about those AIDS activists. They could spread teh ghey to the rest of the Toronto populace or something.

The polis have stepped up the surveillance on all activists in Scotland as well (even though we're constantly aware of the bloody CCTV with every step}, especially since they don't want to waste all that extra neat stuff they got to purchase for the G8.
I thought Angels in America was one of the best programmes I've ever watched.I don't see things until they come out on DVD years after, and people had been talking about it so I rented it, not knowing what it was and _wow_. Al Pacino's portrayal of Cohn was so on.

The joke's on the cops, though, because someone is going to have to sit through hours of footage that's basically people holding candles.

I loved Angels. I've watched it a few times, and there are parts that seem unintentionally cheesy now—unnecessary stock footage and special effects, mostly—but overall it's awesome.

Even official Cuban government sources admit that there's unemployment in Cuba. While lower than in most countries, it is real. How the myth that there's full employment in Cuba became so widespread, I don't know.

One of the things I despise the most about the merciless character of the right wing is the fact that they are so empowered by these self-righteous 'Christian' fundamentalists who show no mercy to anyone who is not a copy of them.
