Flippant Friday: A stroll around town
Dec. 15th, 2006 04:25 pmOkay, guys, it's another photo-dump. But considering that there was talk about a "photograph your commute home" meme the other day, I don't think anyone should complain.

If you can't read the tiny type, this is the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services. Mostly staffed by well-intentioned people, often late with disability and welfare cheques. I think someone got sick of waiting.

I was just going to e-mail this one to
annaotto, but I thought some of you might also find it amusing.

Someone decided to re-enact Pacman using a Big Mac and the streetcar shelter. The buns are squishy enough that they stick to the glass.

It's mean to make fun of restaurants that don't employ copy-editors, and besides, that's part of their charm. I actually think this is really awesome, because it isn't a menu...

...it's a giant (and very informative) poster. And if that wasn't good enough, this place used to be a McDonald's. Now it's a Korean BBQ joint. There's probably not much on the menu that I can eat, but I feel like I should check it out just on principle. We're so used to seeing American chains take over cool independent establishments that it's great to see the opposite happen.
Finally, since I know that half of you only read my blog to see Marinetti:

Here he is, bathed in angelic light. About five minutes later he decided to pick a fight with L., sleeping peacefully on my bed. What a wanker.

It's actually a sharp wood screw, but it's still funny.

Date: 2006-12-16 12:34 am (UTC)I had lunch there on my birthday when we were in Toronto. It was good, and the prices compared very favorably to the many Korean places in my neighborhood.

Date: 2006-12-16 12:40 am (UTC)Mind if I share it with OCAP? I think it would go nicely on the new OCAP Blog (which I guess is less 'official' and hopefully a little less serious than the OCAP website). If they do want to put it up, would you like to be credited? Yr name or Sabotabby?

Date: 2006-12-16 05:47 am (UTC)Should read: "Complain to someone who can ACTUALLY help you, and will listen no matter how much you bitch about your bunions, co-workers, spouse, children, and the cat puke you stepped in when you woke up in the morning. We'll convince you that the world really isn't trying to eat you alive.... ... ... or at least, we'll try reeeeeeeeal hard!"
Mine is a lot wordier... but that's what I thought of when I saw that picture! LMAO.
Love the broken glass door- so if you lean on it, will you get your cheque faster? *wonders*
Marinetti is cute. He's a cat- that fookin' defines cute. (Even if he is a wanker. *snicker*).
*GLOMP*
