I dunno. Reading an Israeli plea for human rights doesn't strike me as that much more hypocritical than hearing American pleas for human rights. Then again, the writer doesn't seem to catch his own irony either.

I think that, much in the same way as with Americans, it really depends on which Israeli is saying it. On the other hand, it is the J-Post, and I'm pretty sure they didn't catch the irony because they'd never presumed Palestinians are humans before.

That's a good point. After Bush, I don't know if anyone could be. This is to exclude people with "soft power" like Al Gore or Jimmy Carter, I guess.
