So, as audrawilliams pointed out, our illustrious future Prime Minister did grace Toronto Pride with his presence this weekend. However, he was looking less than fabulous.

Okay, it's a bit unfair to pick on poor Iggy, given that Harper didn't show up for Pride at all. But still, you can throw on some Pride beads or something. Were you even trying?

Thus, at Stitch n' Bitch, it was concluded that we ought to hold a Photoshop contest to make Iggy a bit more fierce. I'll get you started:

Wow - I don't think you get politicians attending Pride over here, except probably Ken Livingstone, ex-mayor.

Actually, there's been quite a lot of progress on that score - all of the three main political parties have Cabinet/Shadow Cabinet-level speakers at Pride this year, and all of them will also have delegations marching in the parade. I don't think it matters what they'll be wearing, though! (As long as it isn't something with an obnoxious slogan on it, obviously.)

Apparently Gordon Brown has also spoken at one of the pre-Pride events now, and Sarah Brown (his wife) is going to march - he's been advised not to because of security concerns. Much as I dislike the man, it's good to see a sitting PM participating.
