Dear
sabotabby's Id,
You do not need more stuff.
No, not even a $60 mini-BBQ-grill-thingie.
No, not even if it comes in bright green.
You are not even going to be around this summer.
Signed,
sabotabby's Superego
By the way, one free internet to anyone who obtains an advance reading copy of this atrocity and mails it to me (or sends me a torrent; that might be easier). You will also get commentary.

Date: 2010-06-14 09:52 pm (UTC)As for BBQ, well, build a clay oven instead and make pizzas. Or change your birthday to a different date then get it for your birthday. That's what I did when my brother died not long after my birthday. I changed my birthday to a different day of a different month so it didn't remind me, and then people got confused and gave me two lots of presents. Though not a bbq, but I have no garden anyway. And I am more sentimental about birthdays whereas you really don't like them.

Date: 2010-06-14 10:02 pm (UTC)The other issue with BBQs is that I have nowhere to BBQ, unless I want to risk getting in trouble for doing it in the parkette, or unless I want to grill in the parking lot behind my house. Neither of which are really appealing options. Plus
I occasionally claim November 5th as a birthday, but too many people have birthdays in November.

Date: 2010-06-14 10:12 pm (UTC)Well, Cubbington (my ex) had a trailer for his book, which was rather good. And
I just love how right-wing blowhards are always writing near-future speculative fiction, despite being intrinsically backward-looking and not actually ever reading any of the good stuff. I grant exception to Orson Scott Card, who wrote good sci-fi before writing horrible near-future speculative fiction.
